TOQUES ET CLOCHERS
IN A FEW WORDS
Toques et Clochers is a charity auction, the profits of which go towards
renovating the 42 bell towers of the villages in the Limoux appellation, helping
preserve historical heritage and local architecture.
Every year a village is selected to host the festival which attracts almost 30,000
people to the village streets and celebrates the renovation of its church. It
is also a major event in the wine world - the second largest wine auction in
France after the Hospices de Beaune and a fantastic opportunity to bring
together wine growers, wine makers, merchants, restaurateurs and customers
from all over the world for an amazing weekend of festive fun.
Toques et Clochers has been organised by Sieur d’Arques since 1990. During
this unique event to which we invite key figures in the fields of gastronomy
and French and international wine, the wine growers who passed the drastic
selection of our wine makers and complied with all the requirements of our
technical teams proudly represent the «Clocher» of their home village and
pour samples of their own wine barrels to the buyers.
A hundred lots are sold during this auction presided over by a three-star
Michelin Chef, who will manage later during the evening to serve the gala
dinner for about 400 guests.
