      >  CAF      CAF is the institution that helps you pay your rent, the Caisse d'Allocations
                  Familiales offers you a certain amount of financial aid (APL) www.caf.fr.
                  See page Formalities and the definition APL.
      >  CDM      Centre de Documentation Multimédia : the school library where you can borrow/
                  consult/access books, literature, the press, but also study.
      >  CET      The Coordinateur des études (Study coordinators) are at the heart of the
                  academic program, and are the interface between students, teachers and the
                  DFR. They are the first point of contact for students for questions related to your
                  courses, timetables, rooms, audio-visual material. They manage students' grades
                  and absences.
      >  CIUP     Located in a 34-hectare wooded park in the south of Paris, the Cité Internationale
                  Universitaire de Paris is home to 5,500 residents from all over the world,
                  representing 130 nationalities, of which about a third are French, spread over the
                  37 houses. The CIUP is located near the “Cité Universitaire" station of the RER B,
                  which provides access to the centre of Paris but also to Massy Palaiseau in about
                  thirty minutes.
      >  CLASSES   (Preparatory classes). Classes préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles (CPGE) refers to
      PRÉPA       the two years of very intensive scientific education ("Math sup" and "Math spé")
                  after high school which prepare students to the French national examination
                  (concours national) which allows students to access the Grandes Ecoles.
      >  CONCOURS  The highly selective national examination (concours) taken by students to enter
      COMMUN      the first year of ENSTA Paris after the preparatory classes. Sometimes « concours
                  commun » is used to name the students who entered the school through this
                  competition.
      >  DEL      Division des oeuvres sociales et des logements. (housing office)
      >  DFR      Direction de la Formation et de la Recherche. This department is responsible
                  for the programme and research activities. It is the main contact for students’
                  orientation or for any problem affecting the smooth running of their studies.
      >  DRIPE    Department of Development, International Relations and Partnerships.
      >  DSI      The Direction des Systèmes d’Information is responsible for the school's computer
                  stations, the school's network and publishing.
