    >  SOUTE-   (Research defence). At the end of the (PRe or PFE), internship (PRe or PFE), the
    NANCE       student must write a report presenting the work done during the internship and
                defend their project in front of a jury.
    >  STAGE    The “long internship” is an optional internship of ten to twelve months that students
    LONG        can do between the second and third year of their studies. The students work
                as an entry-level manager, over a period of time that allows them to be given real
                responsibilities. This gives them a real opportunity to convince themselves of their
                attraction to the sector before choosing their third year courses.
    >  SYNAPSES ENSTA Paris extranet computer system that allows students to indicate their
                choice of courses, internships and to request various documents (school
                certificate, etc.).
    >  UER      Unités d’Enseignement et de Recherche: synonymous with laboratories.
    >  VALIDATION A student has validated the academic year if they have not obtained any mention
                of “insufficient" grade in the specific courses, if necessary after a make-up
                examination.
    >  VISITES IN- (Industrial visits). In order to give students a real vision of companies, ENSTA Paris
    DUSTRIELLES  has set up the “industrial visits". All 1st and 2nd year students go on a one-day trip
                to meet industrial members of a sector in which they are interested.
    >  WEC WEEK- Cultural Weekend, organised by the students.
    END CULTUREL
    >  WEI WEEK- Integration Weekend, organised by the students during in the first week of
    END D’INTÉ-  September. Rather than a weekend, it is several days of sports and social activities
    GRATION     and festive evenings during which the new students get to know each other
                better.
